Discover the Highlights of the Peloponnese: Corinth, Mycenae, and Nafplion
Embark on an enriching journey from Athens to the Peloponnese, exploring iconic landmarks and historical treasures.
Your first stop is the Corinth Canal, an impressive engineering feat from the late 19th century that connects the Saronic and the Corinth gulfs. Pause to marvel at this narrow but remarkable waterway before continuing your adventure.
Next, visit the legendary Mycenae, a cradle of Greek civilization and one of the most important settlements of the Bronze Age (c. 2000–1000 BC). Home to the famed King Agamemnon, this ancient city is steeped in myth and history. Explore its archaeological treasures, including the famous Lion Gate, Royal Tombs, and the Palace, with a guided tour offering deeper insights. Afterward, enjoy a lunch break to recharge.
Continue to the picturesque town of Nafplion, a seaside gem rich in history and charm. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the town’s marble-paved streets, where your guide will reveal the stories behind its blend of Venetian, Ottoman, and Greek influences. Admire landmarks such as the French Obelisk, the Venetian Loggia, and the historic “White House.” See the town’s old and new castles and delve into Greece’s political history as you encounter statues of Ioannis Kapodistrias, Greece’s first governor, and King Otto, its first modern king
Important Note: Our itineraries may occasionally operate in reverse order. This is because we must coordinate entry time slots at archaeological sites such as Mycenae, which depend on daily availability and group flow. For this reason, the visit to Nafplio can take place either in the morning or the afternoon. Both experiences are included in full, though the sequence may change.
